Knox discusses crop conditons, President Andrew Jackson's declining popularity and the reorganization of his cabinet, Henry Clay's presidential prospects and his position on the tariff, and Knox's views on states' rights, free trade, and Nullification, "...States Rights & Free Trade... never can I suffer tamely my rights to be usurped by a Gen[era]l Government."
